How to play Fechilla
Objective
Guess the hidden date in 6 attempts by following the game's hints. There is only one correct date per round.
Instructions
On screen you'll see 6 rows of 8 boxes each. You'll need to write a date per row in DD / MM / YYYY format. To write the date, use the board's keyboard, type your numbers, and press the "Enter" button to count your attempt. The numbers of the date you entered will change color with the following indicators:
Color Indicators
- 🟩 Green: the number is correct and in the correct position
- 🟨 Yellow: the number is correct but in the wrong position
- ⬛ Gray: the number does not appear in the date
In addition to the color indicator on the game board, the numbers on the keyboard on screen will also change color. This will make it easier for you to deduce which numbers you can use, which ones you can't, and which ones you need to change position for your next attempt.
Keep trying with different dates and combinations until you get all the numbers in green, which means you've found the correct date. But remember, you only have 6 chances!
Guessing the date gives you points and you can get an extra bonus for time, meaning the faster you guess, the more points you earn. If you don't guess the date on your sixth attempt, the correct date will be revealed and you won't get any points.
Points System
After starting the game, your score is calculated as follows:
Points by attempt
- Correct on row 1: +1000 points
- Correct on row 2: +850 points
- Correct on row 3: +700 points
- Correct on row 4: +500 points
- Correct on row 5: +250 points
- Correct on row 6: +100 points
Other points
- Time bonus: From 0 to 500 points. A correct guess with less time will give you a higher score.
- Hint: -300 points. Tells you which historical event corresponds to the hidden date.
The total score is calculated by adding the points corresponding to guesses and the time bonus.
Remember, it's not just about finding the correct date, but solving the game in the fewest attempts and in the shortest time possible. Try to beat your points record on each try!
About possible dates
Fechilla uses a large bank of historical events and their corresponding dates. You can use the hint to get an idea of the historical event that corresponds to the hidden date, but beware, using hints costs you points. This way, you can learn about history while playing and decide if you want to use the hint or try to guess the date without it.
Expert Tips
Remember that in the boxes corresponding to "Day" you can only put numbers from 01 to 31. In the "Month" boxes they can only be from 01 to 12, and for the "Year" we recommend starting with 1 or 2 in the first box, as they cover most of the possibilities.
