How to play Palabrilla extreme
Objective
Guess the secret word in 8 attempts by following the game's hints. There is only one correct word per round.
Instructions
On screen you'll see 8 rows of 8 boxes each, with 5 gray boxes, 1 green, 1 yellow, and 1 red. You'll need to write a 5-letter word per row. To write the word, use the board's keyboard, type your word, and press the "Enter" button to count your attempt. If the word doesn't exist, you'll need to type a different word. If your word does exist, the 3 boxes on the right of each row will show a number:
Color Indicators
- 🟩 Green: number of correct letters in the correct position
- 🟨 Yellow: number of correct letters in the wrong position
- ⬛ Red: number of incorrect letters
Both the 5 boxes of the word and the keyboard on screen will remain gray. This will make it harder to deduce which letters are correct that make up the word.
Keep trying with different words and letter combinations until you get the number 5 in the green box, which means you've found the correct word. But remember, you only have 8 chances!
Guessing the word gives you points and you can get an extra bonus for time, meaning the faster you guess, the more points you earn. If you don't guess the word on your eighth attempt, the correct word will be revealed and you won't get any points.
Points System
After starting the game, your score is calculated as follows:
Points by attempt
- Correct on row 1: +1000 points
- Correct on row 2: +850 points
- Correct on row 3: +700 points
- Correct on row 4: +500 points
- Correct on row 5: +250 points
- Correct on row 6, 7, or 8: +100 points
Other points
- Time bonus: From 0 to 500 points. A correct guess with less time will give you a higher score.
The total score is calculated by adding the points corresponding to guesses and the time bonus.
Remember, it's not just about finding the correct word, but solving the game in the fewest attempts and in the shortest time possible. Try to beat your points record on each try!
About possible words
Palabrilla uses a large bank of words in the Spanish version, just like the English version. However, it's possible that some words that do exist in your language will appear as invalid. This happens a lot with conjugated verbs, proper nouns, plurals, or special forms of a word. If this happens, try with a similar form of the word. Spanish words include the letter "ñ", but words with accents are not allowed.
Expert Tips
Start with words where all 5 letters are different—this will help you guess useful letters faster and eliminate the ones that aren't. Also, use words with different vowels at first, as they are the most common letters in words and easier to classify.
